Day Habilitation
The Day Habilitation Program provides age-appropriate enrichment activities and community interaction for participants Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Some instructive components of the program include staff assistance with clients acquiring, retaining and/or improving self-help, socialization and adaptive skills; providing individuals with age-appropriate activities that will enhance self-esteem and which will maximize functional level; training and support activities which promote clients’ integration and participation in the community and providing assistance for individuals who cannot manage their personal care needs during day habilitation activities.
In addition, participants in our Day Habilitation Program may enjoy trips to the zoo, movie theatre, bowling alley, museums, Galveston’s Ripley Sea Turtle Hatchery, arts and crafts activities, exercise classes, pizza parties, picnics at local parks, rides on the Bolivar Island Ferry, Bar-B-Ques and visits with the elderly at a local senior citizen center.
Many clients frequently visit the Ravenwood Equestrian Center in Pearland to ride horses, learn proper care for them and enjoy picnics at the facility.
